Fulani earrings are one of the most talked-about pieces of jewelry from Africa. They make an instant impression with their glimmering, twisted appearance. Hand-crafted in Mali, traditionally these earrings are made of recycled bronze from old car radiators and the silver is silver plated. The bronze is hammered till it is nearly paper thin, and then twisted to create the intricate look of the earrings. The Fulani customarily wore these earrings to showcase their wealth. The bigger the earring the wealthier the wearer. The women would typically get these earrings as a present on their wedding day.
NOTE: We usually have medium on hand. Large and Jumbo may have to be special ordered.
For a normal clean, nothing beats soap and water! Simply wash in warm water and soap, using a soft cloth to gently rub away any dirt and grime. Make sure to rinse the soap off thoroughly before wiping. Store carefully out of the air.
Using a jewelry cleaning cloth to wipe after wearing will minimize tarnish.
